Our commitment

M D Patel & Co. is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, speech input, or a reduced-motion setting. Accessibility is treated as part of how the site is built rather than as a later correction.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities. This website is intended to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

We describe the site as partially conformant. It has been built against the Level AA success criteria and checked in testing, but it has not yet been assessed by an independent third party, so we do not claim full conformance.

What we have implemented

  • A single, correctly ordered heading structure on each page, with one level-one heading.
  • A skip link that lets keyboard users bypass the navigation.
  • Full keyboard operability, including the navigation menu and the frequently asked questions, with visible focus indicators throughout.
  • Text and interface colour contrast meeting the Level AA thresholds of 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and interface components.
  • Touch and pointer targets of at least 48 by 48 pixels.
  • Form fields with permanently visible labels, with required fields identified in text rather than by colour or placeholder alone, and error messages announced to assistive technology.
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, and empty alternative text on images that are purely decorative.
  • Content that reflows to a 320 pixel viewport without horizontal scrolling.
  • Animation that is reduced or removed entirely when the operating system requests reduced motion, and no automatically playing media.

Known limitations

We are still reviewing this site and expect to find issues we have not yet caught. Two we already know about:

  • The contact form on the home page is not yet connected to a mailbox. It validates and confirms in the browser, but submissions are not delivered — please email us directly in the meantime.
  • The site has not been tested across the full range of screen reader and browser combinations, so behaviour in less common pairings may differ from what we describe above.
